Question: What service does London Family Stay provide?
Answer: London Family Stay is an agency specialising in host family
accommodation in London. On request we can arrange homestay placements in
family homes. Clients include students studying English and individuals
on business courses and work placements.
We can also arrange homestay placements for groups. Please contact
us for more information.
Question: How do I book host family accomodation through London Family
Stay?
Answer: Fill in our online reservation
form. Before you book please read the terms
and conditions.
Question: I want a homestay in a specific part of London/I have a specific
request. What should I do?
Answer: Please specify your requirements on online reservation
form or contact us with
your enquiry. On receiving your request we will contact you to tell you
whether we can meet these requirements.
Question: I will be studying an English course at a language school in
central London. Do you have host families in central London?
Answer: As well as travel zones 4 and 5, we also have families in zones
2 and 3 although they get booked very quickly and it is advisable to make
a reservation well in advance.
Question: Where can I find information on public transport, including a
zone map of London?
Answer: Here
is a good zone map detailing the London Underground and mainline train stations.

Question: How can I pay for the accommodation?
Answer: Once you have sent your reservation
form we will contact you with details of available homestay placements.
Your placement with you chosen family is confirmed by payment of a £30
deposit.
The £30 deposit can be paid by bank transfer or credit card. The full
balance must be paid at least 14 days in advance. Please see the terms
and conditions for full details.
Question: I want to learn English at a language school in London. Can I
book a course through London Family Stay?
Answer: No, London Family Stay do not endorse any language schools.
We are of course happy to provide clients with information/help to find
a language school in London.
Question: I am not sure of the dates when I need the accommodation. What
should I do?
Answer: Please feel free to send us your enquiry
however as accommodation availability changes daily, we will not be able
to provide you with details of specific family placements.
Question: Can I make a reservation for less than 2 weeks?
Answer: Yes, however please note the minimum charge for family homestay
accommodation is 2 weeks.
Question: How will I get from the airport to my family? I've never been
to England before and I'm worried about finding my way my host family's
house.
Answer: On request London Family Stay provides an additional 'Pick
Up' service from any London airport/train station. We will take you directly
to your homestay accommodation. There is an additional cost for this service.
Please contact us for further

Question: Am I able to stay with the same host family as my friend?
Answer: Yes, where available, friends will be able to share the same room
in the same house. We can also place friends in separate homes within a
few minutes walking distance.
Question: I need to travel by underground to my English classes. Can I
buy discounted/student travel tickets?
Answer: Travelling by bus, train and underground is very expensive. By using
a Student Oyster Card you can get reduced travel on buses, trains and the
underground. To apply for a Student Oyster Card you will need to fill in
a form obtainable from your English Language School/College which states
that you are a student attending their school.
Question: Will my host family be able to cater for my special dietary needs
(e.g. vegetarian)?
Answer: Yes, many of our families are pleased to cater special dietary needs.
Question: I want to be able to cook my own food in my host family. Is this
possible?
Answer: This is not a problem as we cater for all needs from self catering
to half board home stay placements.
Question: How will I wash my clothes?
Answer: Your family will be pleased to allow you one laundry wash per week.
However, if you need more washing done and your host family cannot do it
for you, you can go to the local launderette. You may need to provide your
own soap powder.
Question: If I come back home late one night how will I get into my host
family's house?
Answer: As part of our policy, all clients are provided with a house key
to enable their stay to be as flexible as possible.
Question: I am a smoker. Will I be allowed to smoke in the house?
Answer: You will need to discuss this with your host family upon arrival.
However do not be offended if they ask you not to smoke in the house.
